Mitch Serlin, Founder, Executive Director
Mitch, a retired Westchester County K-9 Police Officer and Desert Storm Combat Veteran of the US Army, Founded Hope for Heroes in September 2010. Through his years of service, Mitch connected with Military, Fire, Police and EMS heroes, who were also suffering from PTSD and other debilitating conditions.
His desire for emotional and spiritual healing inspired him to start Hope for Heroes and create services for other everyday heroes who were in need of recovery and healing.
Mitch and Hope for Heroes have served hundreds of disabled heroes since its inception. He is excited to continue and serve this community and raise that number exponentially.
Mike G. Gallop, President
Mike Gallop, Director of Business Development and Sales, InSite Wireless Group, owner and operators if national wireless networks. His experience in the telecommunications industry spans over more than 25 years.
Gallop has held positions with SOLiD, TE Connectivity(ADC), Black Box, NextiraOne, and Williams Communications/Wiltel. In these positions, he has been responsible for all facets of driving and developing sales opportunities, exploring new sales channels, implementing new areas of business and creating business relationships.
Mike is an avid Sportsman. Having travelled all over the U.S. and Canada with his bow, shot gun and rifle. Former owner of In-Scents Deer Lure Company, he has been featured on many hunting show’s and industry magazines.
Mike is happily married and has 2 teenage daughters. His oldest daughter just completed her freshman year at Binghamton University, where she played Div. I Lacrosse. His younger daughter is entering her senior year in HS and aspires to play college lacrosse as well.
In his free time, Mike has coached college (DIII) Men’s Lacrosse, founded Still River Lacrosse summer travel program for girls at the HS/Youth level, and attends his daughters’ Lacrosse Games, hunts, fishes and likes to BBQ.
Mike sits on the Board of Directors and is President for Hope for Heroes
John serves as Executive Vice President of Strategy for MiraMed Global Services, an international Healthcare Technology, Information and Service provider. There he is responsible for broadening the global strategy and continuity across all company brands; including: strategic initiatives, channel partnerships, MSO development, identifying mergers and acquisitions, and private label opportunities. John has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare services and other transactional-based markets. Prior to joining MiraMed, he was CEO and partner in a national, healthcare focused, ARM company and multi-specialty physician billing company. There he was responsible for the divestiture, corporate restructuring and acquisition which secured its present success. John also co-founded and developed Vision Financial, a national ARM and CRM company with multiple operational facilities in several industry verticals. Prior to starting his company, he successfully managed sales, client support services, operations, IT and analytics. He has the ability to accumulate new ideas, recognize new technologies and process improvements, and then help incorporate them into the company’s existing culture and environment. His experience, loyal relationships and passion for the outdoors make him an ideal board member for The Hope for Heroes Foundation. We welcome his insight in helping our organization achieve our goals.
Mark Medeiros lives in Danbury, CT with his wife and children. Mark is the owner of Western CT builders, but was previously employed by Habitat For Humanity. He has served as a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Beckerly Hose Company for many years. In his free time, Mark enjoys hunting and fishing.
Robert T Smith
A retired Investment Advisory sales and service executive with 25 plus years experience working and advising corporations, labor unions and bank clients who still serves as a consultant. Married 45 years and served in the Army New York National Guard from 1970- 1976.
Stephen is a retired Sergeant Major from the United States Army with over 24 years of experience in various leadership positions. During his career he had the honor of serving on several operation deployments that include service in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia. Upon retirement he went to work as the account manager for Dell Federal, which served the US Forces in the South West Area of Operations and supported both Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq). After working with Dell SGM(R) Smith returned to Afghanistan to work as the Program Manager for Global Technology with the responsibility of rebuilding the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense Information Technology Network all across Afghanistan. He currently is working as an Information Technology consultant based out of the central New York region.
