New Lodge Capital Campaign

The acquisition of our new 113-acre property in Hillsdale, NY, and plans to build a handicap-accessible, six-bedroom, 4,700-square-foot lodge for rehabilitation and healing for our Heroes and families will allow greater inclusive access locally for our heroes to begin their healing journey.

Hope For Heroes plans to host educational workshops and events for our Veterans and First-Responders. The Healing Lodge retreats will include job skill rehabilitation, service dog training, trauma-informed yoga, hunting retreats, gardening, foraging, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and kayaking while providing adaptive equipment for inclusive participation. Our Healing Lodge retreat center will heal our Veterans holistically by providing and guiding them through activities they love for mental, spiritual, and physical healing. Hope For Heroes is dedicated to helping its community in the Hudson Valley and has plans to make the  Lodge available to other non-profit organizations in need of space.

Every donation large and small will help us reach our $1.2 million goal needed for construction.

At Hope For Heroes, we aim to build relationships that last a lifetime for our disabled heroes in need and provide a safe, comfortable environment across all of our events and programs.

Hope for Heroes outings are curated not only for our Heroes but also for their families, friends, and caregivers who work tirelessly to support their loved ones. With enough space to lodge family members or caregivers, this new lodge will help facilitate holistic healing for everyone. The need for this type of nature-based “Camouflage Therapy” cannot wait. Tragically, an average of 22 veterans commit suicide per day, and the suicide rate of law enforcement is 2-3 times higher than the general population. The new lodge will help us continue to build our family of heroes and show that once you take off the uniform, there is an additional brotherhood to be found. Being active in nature helps develop the bond and comradery between our heroes. Additionally, we will be able to increase the number of heroes served to over 500 per year.

Through your help, let’s empower our nation’s heroes and help facilitate healing through these great nature-based activities. Our Heroes have told us countless times that the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie sticks with them long after each event ends. Over time, these shared outdoor experiences help them heal, give them hope and allow them to reconnect with loved ones, the activities they love, the jobs they lost, and the world around them.

We thank you for your interest in improving the well-being of our nation’s veterans and first responders and with your donation, you can be a part of the healing process for our nation’s heroes.
